A little bit about myself, the short version goes: I started working on my dad as a kid - mostly his feet, my uncle showed me a few things when he visited and I have been doing massage nearly my entire life. I never thought of it as a job or potential job until recently when the TV ads showed it as a career. At 40 I decided to change my life and at 45 went back to school, got my new degree and became a LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist). Because of my personal experiences I have been able to learn and adapt techniques to make my therapy the best it can be. I am always learning and changing. Massage is my life and I share it with hundreds of people. I also have clients that come to my home and I go to a few homes every week. My clients depend on me and I become a part of their weekly or monthly routine that they cannot give up. I do have a few very special clients - A woman that wass 99 years old, she met me in the Sprouts parking lot with her daughter, I talked to them and eventually they called me to do a massage. I went to their home every 2 weeks then every week and she turned 105 in September 2015.
I have had many jobs but mainly self employed since I wanted to be a mom 1st and foremost. I made dancewear and costumes for years and got really into the manufacturing which was not a good thing for my body. I was basically a seamstress and patternmaker and slumped over for up to 24 hours at a time for little pay. I loved the work and the rewards of making people happy but it was not my calling. I listened to my heart and instinct and had to go into the massage field as my hands have a life of their own. I have a gift of being able to seek and find issues that people don't even know they have.
